Irvine, CA, December 5, 2016: MecSoft Corporation, the developer of industry leading CAD/CAM software solutions, has announced the availability of RhinoCAM 2017, the newest version of MecSoft’s integrated CAM solution for the Windows version of Rhinoceros 5.0.

Release Highlights:

  • Feature detection and Feature Based milling have been introduced. Machining features such as 3 Axis Pockets, Prismatic Pockets, Slots, Planar Faces, and Bosses can now be detected in Solid models (both surface and meshes) and toolpath methods applied to these features.
  • New 4 Axis Drive Surface Operation for true 4 Axis Milling has been introduced.
  • New Slot Milling Operation for single line and trochoidal machining of slots has been introduced.

Rhino3DPRINT 2016 is a fully integrated plug-in that runs inside Rhinoceros 5.0 that offers easy and efficient automatic tools for preparing 3D data that could not otherwise be 3D printed.

Some of the enhanced features inside Rhino3DPRINT 2016 are:

  • Support Generation for holding up areas that have overhangs
  • Determination of best orientation of geometry for printing
  • Generate nozzle deposition patterns and associated G-code to drive FDM printers
  • Ability to cycle through holes in a mesh and manually fix them
  • Intersect & Splitting two sets of meshes
  • Ability to select & manipulate selected portions of a mesh using a graphical manipulator

MecSoft Announces CAM Access for Onshape Users

Irvine, CA, November 30, 2015: MecSoft Corporation announces the release of VisualIMPORT for Onshape. VisualIMPORT for Onshape allows access to the users’ on-line Onshape account from inside VisualCAD, enabling users to view and import part files from their Onshape account. Once imported into VisualCAD, users can utilize VisualCAD’s plug-ins such as VisualCAM to create cutter paths for CNC machining (Subtractive Manufacturing) and Visual3DPRINT to make the models amenable for 3D printing (Additive Manufacturing).

The 2017 release is a maintenance release with significant memory usage improvements and performance enhancements. In addition to this numerous bugs reported by customers and detected by internal testing were fixed.

VisualCAM 2017 for SOLIDWORKS now includes Feature Detection and Feature Based Milling. Machining features such as 3 Axis Pockets, Prismatic Pockets, Slots, Planar Faces, and Bosses can now be detected in Solid models and toolpath methods applied to these features. New machining methods such as 4 Axis Drive Surface Operation for true 4 Axis Milling and Slot Milling Operation for single line and trochoidal machining of slots have also been introduced.
